Bidding FAQ's

In advance of the sale:

Via the Oberon Auctions website if you are a new customer you will need to register your details first.

If you are already registered, please login to enable you to access the bidding facility.

Once you are logged in and you have located the lot you wish to bid on 'click' on the 'bid' button, enter your maximum bid and continue to follow the on-line instructions until you have submitted your bid(s).

Via The Saleroom if you are a new customer you will be asked to register.

Absentee bids can be left on the Saleroom website up until 2 hrs prior to the auction commencing.

 

Go to the Sign in/ Create Account page.

If you would like to bid live via the telephone please contact us prior to the day of the auction on +44(0)1135133355. On the day of the sale you will need to be available so that we can contact you via the telephone during the live auction. We will call you several minutes prior to the lot being offered for auction.

We cannot guarantee that all telephone requests will be honored due to the rising demand for telephone bidding. Although we will try to accommodate every request, we cannot be held responsible for any missed  calls due to human or technical errors.

Then log in to the website using your usual Oberon Auctions Username and Password OR fill in the details under the Create an account section and follow the instructions.

THEN

 After you have registered on the Oberon Auctions website visit the LIVE AUCTIONS page to view and bid live. Please note, auctions won't be visible until shortly before the auction time.

If you would like to bid live via the telephone please contact us prior to the day of the auction on 01135133355 (+44 instead of 0 for international callers). On the day of the sale you will need to be available so that we can contact you via the telephone during the live auction. We will call you several minutes prior to the lot being offered for auction.

We cannot guarantee that all telephone requests will be fulfilled due to large volumes of telephone bids. We will try to accomodate all telephone bids but cannot be held accountable for miss calls or human error.

On sale day, come to our auction house located at 1 Moorfield Crescent, Yeadon, Leeds , LS19 7EA at least 30 minutes before the auction is due to start to register for the auction and speak to the team. You will be seated in the auction room and assisted by staff if you have any issues. We would recommend physically attending the auction for the best buyers rates.

All Oberon auctions are held live on-line www.oberonauctions.com. Most sales will also be hosted on www.saleroom.com.

For Live bidding via The Saleroom.com you will need to register with The Saleroom and then sign up for each sale.

You can also bid via the Oberon Auctions Website where you will need to register with Oberon Auctions including completing your payment details , register for the auction and then on the morning of each sale Login to your account to 'Join' the auction.

 

Oberon Auctions participate in 'live bidding' for all sales, to enable us to do this the following bidding increments will apply:

Any postal, internet or bids that have been telephoned in with odd figures will be rounded up, for example a bid for £56 will be rounded up to £60, or a bid for £222 will be rounded up to £240.

In the event of a 'tied' bid we will always accept the bid we received first.

The starting bid of all lots will be set at 70% of bottom estimate.

Selling FAQs

 

The standard charge for selling is 20% but is open to negotiation depending on the value of your collection. The selling charge is all inclusive, plus VAT.

VAT is payable on the commission only and not the hammer price.

 

You will receive payment for your sold lots approximately 28 working days from the date of the sale in the form of a bank transfer if you require an alternate method of payment this may be arranged - please speak to a member of our team before the sale.

Buying FAQ's

The Buyer’s Premium for each lot will be 20% plus VAT. Payment for lots can be made by Credit or Debit card (we accept all major cards), by Bank Transfer and in cash.

 

BUYERS PREMIUM FOR LIVE ON-LINE BIDDING VIA The-Saleroom - Purchasers will be charged a total premium of 25% on the hammer price plus VAT. This will include a charge made by The-Saleroom which will be shown separately on your invoice. (same as above)

There is a 2.5% premium for bidding via the Oberon Auctions Live website.

In the unlikely event the catalogue description does not match the image provided please contact us.

If you notice during or after an auction please note that we will always sell a lot based on the description rather than the image.

The total buyers premium for bidding via the Oberon Auctions Live website and via telephone bidding  is 22.5% + VAT.

The total buyers premium for bidding via the Saleroom is 25% + VAT

The total buyers premium for bidding in person is 20% VAT.

 

Commission Bids / Telephone Bids / Website Bids

You can pay by:

Credit/Debit card, Bank Transfer , Cash on Collection

In order to bid you will need to register a card on your account, this does not need to be the card that you wish to pay from, however we do need a registered credit or debit card in order for you to bid. You can register a payment card on the Oberon Auctions website, login at www.oberonauctions.com and clcik the Hi (my name) box to display the dropdown menu, next select My Invoices and Payments, Edit, and input your card details.  

Once you have won a lot, we will package your items and send you an invoice including the shipping fee which will also be visible on our website in Invoices and Payments section. To pay the invoice click the Pay Invoice button.


Items are shipped in relation to how quickly the invoices are paid, therefore the quicker the invoice is paid the quicker you will receive your items.

Shipping, Postage and Packing FAQ's

Oberon Auctions take pride in getting your items to you safely and can ship all items world wide.

The team will package your items safely and aim to ship your items within 14 days of recieving your invoice payment.

Shipping costs are calculated based on multiple factors including size of package, weight and location and therefore shipping multiple lots to a single buyer is more cost effective than shipping single lots.

The below shipping costs are assumed averages and will change depending on item contents, size,weight and shipping location.

These figures ARE NOT the shipping charge that will be included on your invoice they are just guidelines.

 

UK POSTAGE PRICES

Standard parcels delivered in the Uk will be charged at approximatley £24.99 . High Value parcels will incur higher charges as to accomodate insurance fees. These prices are estimates and may vary from parcel to parcel.

Items aim to be shipped within 14 days of invoice payment.

Yes all packages are insured via our Courier.

Your total shipping cost will be increased to accomodate the higher insurance value on higher value items.

Any items over £2500 will be insured up to a value of £2500. If higher insurance is required please contact us upon recieving your invoice.

After the auction, the team will gather all the lots you have won and package them together carefully, ensuring items are wrapped and handled accordingly. This will allow you to, in most cases, recieve all your lots together in the correct sized box to minimise any potential damage.

Items must be returned to Oberon Auctions Ltd before any refunds will be made. All refunds must be requested within 7 days of delivery. If you have any questions please contact us.
